Peter Hessler

Country Driving: A Journey Through China From Farm to Factory,摘一段《纽约时报》书评里的描述:

The big story Mr. Hessler has to tell in “Country Driving” is about a country that’s feverishly on the move. Speaking of the early years of the last decade, he writes, “To drive across China was to find yourself in the middle of the largest migration in human history — nearly one-tenth of the population was on the road, finding new lives away from home.”

“In China, it’s not such a terrible thing to be lost, because nobody else knows exactly where they’re going, either.”

  3. Seems like a good book. I especially love this line:

“In China, it’s not such a terrible thing to be lost, because nobody else knows exactly where they’re going, either.”

By the way, if I remember correctly, this has a movie adaptation, right? Or have I gotten the wrong title?

  4. In China…Being lost is all part of the process of arriving at your destination. The key is to stay calm and not lose patience.
